It was 2009 and the speed of mobile innovation was astonishing. The iPhone was just launched and already tens of thousands of startups began to disrupt the finance sector, with enormous implication on banking, payment, money-transfer or retail solutions.
As a leading German bank Sparkasse was an established brand in the finance sector. Fascinated by the mobile-first movement, they asked BEAM to support them in their innovation process and guide them in their mobile activities. The goal was to create a common understanding on their strategic mobile vision, to develop hands-on mobile apps and find the appropriate strategic partner to create more convenient and compelling services for their users.
